We love Sonlight for homeschool

We are only a few weeks into our schooling,

but all of us can already tell it is going to be a great year!

I was a little nervous like I always am leading up to starting new grades with FOUR cubs and Sonlight Curriculum has surpassed my expectations.

All the guess work, searching for the right literature, workbooks, what our daily routine should look like, lesson plans and more have already been made for us.

It can be so overwhelming taking on this giant task, especially with a new infant in the house – I was able to talk to a Sonlight advisor before ordering our grades and she took all of the guesswork out for me.

My doorbell rang and there sitting on my steps was EVERYTHING I needed to give my sons the best Christian education possible.

From Pre K to high school, Sonlight Christian Curriculum has everything your family needs.

It is a literature based company and has classic books involved in every lesson.

One of our favorite times recently has been when we all huddle together around a book like Charlotte’s Web.

What has made this doable for me, is the fact that you can combine grades in the core of the learning – History, Bible and Literature are all done with Mark and John together.

( even little James gets to chime in )

That has been a deal breaker for us, and my sanity this year.

Sonlight’s Educational Philosophy

No More Boring Textbooks!

Sonlight’s homeschool curriculum “secret” comes down to this: we believe most children respond more positively to great literature than they do to textbooks. Books – quality books – can distill the wisdom of an entire life into the span of a few pages. They can feed us with spiritual insight beyond imagination. Whether written by Christians or non-Christians, great books help us to develop critical thinking skills. They cause us to question the validity of our own values and beliefs in light of the author’s perspective.

One of the biggest problems I see in modern education is a loss of appreciation for classic stories and reading in general. To broaden the vocabulary of the cubs and also teach them great values I rely heavily on the word of God, but also literature.

If I can homeschool

I am nothing special apart from Christ and I look forward to sharing our journey this year with you all.  Thank you so much for the questions you sent me on our Instagram, I will be filming a homeschool Q and A this week on youtube !
